Alpha Women’s Center
Alpha is a pregnancy care center that brings the spiritual and physical resources of the community to bear on the needs of families facing unplanned pregnancy, poverty and homelessness. It is truly a place of beginning, a place of finding hope. Members become sisters. And the Christ-centered community helps to fill a void.
Women typically gain entry to Alpha’s programs in three ways:
1. Women come in for pregnancy testing and are offered the opportunity to join the program.
2. Women come in because they need resources. Anyone is allowed one emergency visit to pick up resources without being a part of the program.
3. Women call and set up an appointment with a mentor.
Women earn the resources donated by the community by taking classes with their mentors. Alpha is in constant need of the following items to care for the needs of families in poverty and to provide as incentives for participation:
-
Diapers
-
Children’s clothing – newborn to age 6
-
Baby furniture
-
Baby bottles and supplies
-
Maternity clothes
Donated items may be dropped off at the center located at:
1725 South Division, Grand Rapids MI (located between Hall and Burton on Division)
