Thank You for Making a Difference at Alpha in 2011!

2011 Year End Report

In 2011 God challenged Alpha Women’s Center of Grand Rapids to better serve the 3,400 moms and over 5,000 children who came during times of great need. He grew our faith as over a dozen girls came to know Christ as Savior. He gave us creative ways to demonstrate compassion as they lost jobs, homes, parents, children, spouses and severed painful relationships. He gave us courage to forge on with some of our moms who surrendered their babies to abortion. We are thankful that God has a plan full of hope and promise for each woman and child (born and unborn) who visits Alpha. Every life represented brings new challenges for us; challenges that are not easy and not always convenient forcing us to look to God for his direction and his grace.

We believe that in 2012…late-nov2011-016

1. We will see God move in great ways to stir young hearts in our community to make wise choices that are in support of life for the unborn.

2. We will reach our God given capacity at Alpha; by optimizing every inch of our building and every penny donated and by growing and better applying the skills of our board and staff as we recruit, train and support remarkable volunteers called to serve at Alpha.

3. Alpha will become sustainable to the glory of God; by having sufficient funds to pay off our building, make payroll (a real prayer request because we only made complete payrolls half of the year – a sacrifice of praise from our staff), pay for operations and to provide for growing program needs.

David Jeremiah states that, “Compassion’s price is the loss of whatever we could be doing for ourselves instead of spending ourselves on another.” Thank you for spending yourselves on the women we served at Alpha this year with your time, your finances and your prayers. Your sacrifices changed the worlds of many moms and children, some alive today because of your commitment.

As we look to 2012 we anticipate God’s best for the women and children of Alpha and for you and your family.

Have a happy New Year!
