Welcome to Merea Village

The new home of Alpha Women's Center and Community Services
Reaching out to the next generation of women and children
Where the world offers despair, abandonment, and judgment, Merea Village offers hope, acceptance, and grace. Merea (Meh-rey-ah) Village is a community for women. Here women are cherished and encouraged. They begin to heal.
The word Merea is the Greek word for mentor. Throughout its different ministries (Alpha Women’s Center, Community at Heart, and Hope Corner), Merea Village is nurtured by one-on-one mentoring relationships. In addition to helping women in times of pregnancy, Merea Village provides mentoring support to women raising children in less-than-ideal environments.
Alpha Women’s Center
A pregnancy care center that brings the spiritual and physical resources of the community to bear on the needs of families facing unplanned pregnancy, poverty and homelessness.
Community at Heart
A community center that provides a safe, peaceful, respectful and flourishing daily environment for women and children impacted by homelessness or insecure living environments.
Hope Corner
A beauty station dedicated to offering services and encouragement to women in a crisis pregnancy and to their children.

“I was unaware that such a valuable ministry was located so close to me in Grand Rapids. In meeting Carolyn and learning about this place, I was struck by the unwavering dedication Alpha has to meeting needs and educating at the same time. There is such a comfort in knowing that a mentor is willing to walk beside you through a crisis and that she wants you to succeed both for yourself and for your child(ren). God’s hand is evident in Alpha’s ministries and I only foresee it continuing that way.”

“Through partnering with Alpha Women’s Center, it became clear that this dedicated organization makes an invaluable impact within the Grand Rapids community. The work and services provided for these women is insurmountable. There is nothing more valuable than having a shoulder to lean on and Alpha incessantly holds its promise to be there.”
